In a few short days I'll be heading into an unknown world. I will be leaving a job I've grown to enjoy immensely and start my trek to Spring Mountain for our hike on the Appalachian Trail. I should bounce back to about 5 years ago when we moved to State College Pennsylvania. My husband and I moved here with our two youngest children, Danielle and Emma. We were starting our new lives after retiring from the United States Coast Guard. I started working at Penn State University. While I was enjoying our journey thus far, something happened, and I came across a man who was journaling his entire trip on the Appalachian Trail. I was intrigued to say the least.
